I love the about education the most cause I feel education is the most important tool in getting other people to understand our culture and us learning about theirs
ReplyDeletebecause honestly Xenophobia happens because we don't anything about other cultures but yet we judge
Perfectly written. Thank you for the enlightenment. I love the part about inclusion because I believe that even though we are from different parts of world, we are the same. We are one and we should treat others the same way we want to be treated.
ReplyDeleteYes, well said: social media can sometimes reinforces negative attitudes and behaviours towards certain groups of people. Yes not everyone on social media share the same view or opinion... our differences are based on many things... and PRPS should consider that. Thank you for ellaborating
ReplyDeletePR professionals can save lives , stop destruction of infrastructure jst by spreading message of unity .most pple receive negative information abt foreigners ,some of the information may come from political leaders who want votes.we are grateful to hv PR professionals who spread the message of unity .i would also encourage you to continue with the good work
ReplyDeleteI really am impressed with the ways you've recommended for PRPs to use social media in order to reduce xenophobia and I believe your content would be of great help when it comes to educating people about ways of minimizing xenophobia, very informative.
ReplyDeleteWell articulated! It is funny how the media is supposed to connect us and help us engage with each other but instead it is doing the opposite,it is clear we still have a long way to go. #Anti-Xenophobia
ReplyDeleteThe media does not have the power to reduce xenophobia because it spreads misinformation, lies, fake news, and coordination of crimes. However, PR professionals can use their storytelling skills to educate people about different cultures. By educating people about different cultures, people can start respecting each other and not try to discriminate against others.
ReplyDeleteAs South Africans we always pride ourselves with ubuntu but no values of ubuntu are carried when it comes to our fellow Africans.
ReplyDeleteI don't think PR professionals have the power to change actions that lead to xenophobia. PR professionals have been in the industry too long, but they haven't done anything to change people's perspectives against xenophobia. Moreover media does not report xenophobic violations all the time, so how can it change it.
ReplyDeleteYeah you might be right about that but now is another generation not that old generation we know is up to us to make PR professionals take action action which will shape the future generations to do good when comes to xenophobia a stand that can contribute to our future start with baby steps
